{"id":11,"date":"2009-04-16T17:57:40","date_gmt":"2009-04-16T17:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/philanthropy\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2009-04-16T19:09:34","modified_gmt":"2009-04-16T19:09:34","slug":"about-beth-breeze","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/philanthropy\/about-beth-breeze\/","title":{"rendered":"About Beth Breeze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Beth Breeze began her career as a fundraiser for a youth homelessness charity, and has spent a decade working in a variety of fundraising, research and charity management roles, most recently as deputy director at the Institute for Philanthropy.<\/p>\n<p>She is now a researcher within the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy which is partly based at the University of Kent, where she also co-founded the Centre for Philanthropy, Humanitarianism and Social Justice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Beth has written a wide range of research reports on issues related to charitable giving and philanthropy, including &#8216;<em>The Blueprint for Giving&#8217;<\/em>,\u00a0the final report of the Giving Campaign\u00a0co-written\u00a0with Professor Adrian Sargeant;<em>\u00a0&#8216;Robin Hood in Reverse: exploring the relationship between income and charitable giving&#8217;<span style=\"font-style: normal\">, published by the LSE\u00a0http:\/\/www.lse.ac.uk\/collections\/CCS\/pdf\/VSWP\/VSWP3_Breeze.pdf ;\u00a0&#8216;Investment Matters&#8217;, a study of charity asset management; and &#8216;Raising a Giving Nation&#8217;, a report on the impact of efforts to encourage giving amongst schoolchildren.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Her current projects include the annual <em>Million Pound Donor Report<\/em> funded by Coutts Bank, and an investigation of how donors define need and how they select which charities to support.<\/p>\n<p>Beth is keen to take ideas and research findings to a wide audience.
