We are delighted to announce Professor Susan Barker has joined the Medway School of Pharmacy in April 2019 from UCL where she was the Associate Professor of Pharmacy.<\/p>\n
Prof. Susan Barker held her first staff meeting earlier this month where she discussed her bold ambition to drive the school to be one of the top 5 of UK Schools of Pharmacy.\u00a0 She placed great emphasis on the importance of research, open communication and shared responsibility.<\/p>\n
Following completion of her professional qualifications, Prof. Barker spent\u00a0nine years working in research for the pharmaceutical company Merck, Sharp and Dohme,\u00a0before returning to academia at the University of East Anglia.<\/p>\n
Whilst at the University of East Anglia she was the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award.\u00a0 Her research is in the area of medicine design, with a focus on ocular medicines and nanofabrication technologies.<\/p>\n
Prof. Susan Barker appointment was announced back in January 2019 and was\u00a0warmly welcomed<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0Professor Mark Burchell,<\/a> Dean of Sciences at the University of Kent and\u00a0Professor Martin Snowden,<\/a>\u00a0Pro Vice-Chancellor International and Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Greenwich.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
