{"id":136,"date":"2018-09-10T10:52:17","date_gmt":"2018-09-10T09:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/?p=136"},"modified":"2018-09-10T10:52:17","modified_gmt":"2018-09-10T09:52:17","slug":"french-students-complete-internships-at-medway-school-of-pharmacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/2018\/09\/10\/french-students-complete-internships-at-medway-school-of-pharmacy\/","title":{"rendered":"French students complete internships at Medway School of Pharmacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">Between the end of May and the end of July, <strong>Lise Desquien <\/strong>&amp; <strong>Orane Dollet<\/strong> (\u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9riere de Chemie de Lille, <strong>France<\/strong>), completed successful internships working under the supervision of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msp.ac.uk\/about\/staff\/chemistry\/hall_andrew.html\"> Dr Andy Hall<\/a>. \u00a0These internships (\u201cstage\u201d) are an integral part of the Chemistry programme in Lille.<\/p>\n<p>Lise worked on the synthesis of polymerisable molecules that could also recognise other molecules and provide a signal when recognition occurs. Orane\u2019s projects centred on prepared matrix-forming monomers from bio-derived molecules, with the aim of creating \u201cgreen\u201d polymers.\u00a0 The successes achieved during their short research visit will enable Andy to collaborate with research groups in Finland and Spain.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-137 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/1.jpg 537w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a> \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-139\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/pharmacy\/files\/2018\/09\/2.jpg 536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Their visit builds on the relationship between MSoP and ENSCL, following previous successful internships in 2014 (Ambre Pignon &amp; Jeanne Silvestre) and 2015 (Violette Le Guennec).<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
