This week, we have Lewis White from the mathematics department. Lewis will give a talk entitled “From Moving frames to Invariant Euler-Lagrange Equations”.
Abstract: “In this talk I will introduce the concept of moving frames and difference calculus of variations. I will show how (difference) moving frames are used to calculate the difference Euler-Lagrange equations in terms of the invariants. A running example will be used throughout to illustrate this theory more clearly. Moving frames have several applications and I will mention some of these during the talk.”
We look forward to seeing you on teams at 4pm on Friday 4th December for the talk!
