Abstract: This talk is about cluster algebras. We begin by tracing the origins of cluster theory in ancient Greek geometry and periodic sequences. The main objective is to give an introduction to the theory of cluster algebras, criss-crossing the lands between hyperbolic geometry, root systems and algebraic combinatorics.
