Title: An introduction to network analysis and applications to real data sets
Abstract: Network analysis is getting more important with the increasing complexity of data. In this talk, I will start by giving a basic introduction to networks. Then I will focus on some real data analysis using network tools based on my experience. The first data set is about the trade data among 60 countries in 2001-2016. We analysed the evolution of dynamic trade networks. The second data set concerns the NSFC-Guangdong Joint Fund, which describes the cooperation among different scholars from different disciplines and universities. Finally we analyse air pollution data from China. We obtained some interesting results about the PM2.5 pollution in China.
