Assem, Reutenauer and Smith (almost) proved that recurrences from cluster mutations of quivers satisfy linear relations if
and only if the underlying quiver is Dynkin or Euclidean. This proof was completed, using different techniques, by Keller
and Scherotzke. I’ll discuss these and my approach to the affine D type.
