Welcome to the Social Work Partnership Initiative

“This is my experience, this is my life, my life matters. This is what it feels like.”

We are the Social Work Partnership Initiative group. We are a group of individuals and groups with personal experience of social care services, working closely with the University of Kent Social Work team. As a group, we aim to help social work students learn from those who “live in this situation 24/7”. This is captured in our mission statement: we aim to embed service user and carer perspectives in the education of social work students at the University of Kent. Through working collaboratively with staff and students, the Partnership Initiative aims to have an impact on the values, knowledge and skills of future social workers, with a view to producing professionals committed to social justice, partnership work and empowerment.”
