{"id":941,"date":"2020-04-01T10:30:23","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T10:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/paris-news\/?p=941"},"modified":"2021-04-16T08:55:55","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T08:55:55","slug":"applications-to-scholarship-fund-open-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/paris-news\/2020\/04\/01\/applications-to-scholarship-fund-open-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications to scholarship fund open today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paris Scholarships to the value of \u00a35,000 will be awarded to a limited number of outstanding applicants able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, clear intellectual ambition and the potential to make a strong contribution to their chosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/programmes\/index.html\">MA programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Criteria<\/h2>\n<p>To be eligible, candidates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have received a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/programmes\/index.html\">Kent, Paris programmes<\/a> for the academic year starting in September 2020, whether split-site (Canterbury and Paris) or Paris only.<\/li>\n<li>Must start their course in September 2020<\/li>\n<li>Intend to study full-time only<\/li>\n<li>Can be UK, EU and overseas fee paying students<\/li>\n<li>Will be assessed on academic excellence, and will usually hold by July 2020 a first-class Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant subject, or hold by July 2020 an equivalent non-UK qualification or a Master\u2019s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For students whose programmes are quoted in euros, your scholarship will automatically be converted into that currency.<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel\">\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n<p>Candidates must send a letter of motivation, not exceeding 500 words, stating why they wish to join their chosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/programmes\/index.html\">Kent, Paris MA programme<\/a> and how this fits into their longer term plans.<\/p>\n<p>The letter of motivation should be saved with the following file name: \u201cFirstnameSURNAME_application number_letter of motivation\u201d, for example: CatherineWOOD_123456789_letter of motivation.doc.<\/p>\n<p>The letter should be addressed to the Academic Director of Paris programmes and sent by email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:paris@kent.ac.uk\">paris@kent.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0with the subject line: \u201cScholarship application Firstname SURNAME application number\u201d, for example: Scholarship application Catherine WOOD 123456789.<\/p>\n<p>The opening date for accepting applications is Wednesday 1 April 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Deadline<\/h2>\n<p>Friday 15 May 2020, 23:59 BST<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paris Scholarships to the value of \u00a35,000 will be awarded to a limited number of outstanding applicants able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, clear intellectual ambition and the potential to make a strong contribution to their chosen MA programme.
