We look forward to welcoming her to the French capital in October to work with students at both our universities and to join our community of writers.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie Mackintosh was born in South Wales in 1988, and is currently based in London. Her fiction, essays and poetry have been published by <em>Granta<\/em>, <em>The White Review<\/em>, <em>The New York Times<\/em> and <em>The Stinging Fly<\/em>, among others.\u00a0Her debut novel <em>The Water Cure<\/em> was published by Hamish Hamilton in the UK in Spring 2018 and by Doubleday in the US in early 2019, and was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize.
