| Wednesday 18 April | History Day- Conflict and Propaganda | The History Day allows students to explore different areas of history, areas which they may not ordinarily have the opportunity to investigate during their normal lessons. Focussing on a specific theme, the sessions are run by specialist academics and postgraduate students and concentrate on the key skills so important to the student of history, particularly source analysis.

The University of Kent invite all Partner and KMPF schools to our first annual Year 12 Sciences Day at our Canterbury campus. Students will experience a range of hands-on, interactive sessions that will be led by cutting-edge postgraduate researchers and Lecturers. They will offer a unique insight into Science at a Higher Level and how young researchers can continue to change our world.

This workshop provides an Introduction to the philosophy of science. Students will be introduced to the key concepts which underpin the philosophy of sciences, encouraged to think philosophically about scientific problems, and to think about the role of science in the modern world.

| Bespoke | What Can We Learn From Cartoons? |
Through four sessions, this course aims to introduce A-level and BTEC students to issues about the rhetorical function of media and to develop their analytical skills, while giving students a taste of undergraduate seminars in media studies. Students will specifically explore these issues through the medium of cartooning, although they will continually be invited to reflect on parallels to other media.

| Bespoke | Transitions: reflect, research and respond |
The transitions project is designed to stretch and challenge High Achievers in Year 7 or 8. This project involves three sessions (two hours each) in school, and a campus visit to one of the University’s campuses. This project involves asking students to reflect on their experience of moving from primary to secondary schools, culminating in a presentation to school staff about their thoughts and recommended changes.

Confidence in Communication has been designed for students who need help developing their confidence in using communication skills within their studies. The day will enable students to identify transferable skills and discover how they can be used within their studies. Students will also get the opportunity to see how different forms of communication are utilized within different university subjects
