Opening Doors Webinars For Foster Carers and Supporters: Insight into higher education for care-experienced learners, November-December 2025
Opening Doors Webinars for Foster Carers and Supporters is a programme of workshops that provides the tools needed to empower care-experienced young people to make the right choices for them on their educational journey.
The series is open to carers of young people of all ages, not just those who may be leaving sixth form or college over the next couple of years.
The first three sessions are designed as an introduction to university and insights on supporting young people in thinking about their next steps:
- Raising aspirations and supporting decision-making, Thursday 06 November, 10:00-11:30
- University life as a care leaver, Thursday 20 November, 10:00-11:30
- Understanding finance and the application process, Thursday 04 December, 10:00-11:30
The series consists of three online sessions which follow-on from one another. We encourage carers and supporters to attend all three sessions. To sign-up and learn more about the content of the programme, please follow this link:

From Care to Campus Videos
See how to navigate university through the eyes of care experienced students. In partnership with the University of Kent and Kent and Medway Progression Federation, this video is part of a series of three, aiming to shed light on the pressing questions care experienced young people may have when thinking about higher education:

Working in collaboration with those with living experience of care, these videos highlight their personal journeys and invaluable insights.
