Post-16 Outreach Offer 24/25

Post-16 looks ahead to Clearing and 24/25

Celebrating success

A big thank you to all our schools who have engaged with the exciting programme of activities run by our Post-16 team this year. We have loved delivering our Journey to Uni presentations in schools, and have welcomed hundreds of students to campus for our Exploring Uni visit days. We still have a packed month in June, delivering our subject spotlight non-residential summer school days.

As always, we welcome feedback from our partners on all of our activities, to help shape our offer to your needs. We genuinely want to collaborate on what might be helpful to you and your students going forward. To arrange a visit from one of our team to evaluate this year’s offer, and contribute to the programme next year, please email outreach@kent.ac.uk.

Refocussed programme 2024-2025

We are in the process of putting next year’s school offer together. We will continue to run a range of aspirational, information and skills-based talks and workshops. We will also continue to run our interactive Exploring Uni visit days. This year, we hope to offer a range of immersive subject-based activities for students. Again, please feed back to us if there is anything you would particularly like to see in this space. Our full Outreach Programme will be available from 17th June.

Ambition to Succeed

Ambition to Succeed, our level 3 progression scheme, is new for 2024!

From October, we will invite applications from year 12 students* to join a multi-school cohort, for a programme of online and in-person activities, culminating in a residential stay on our Canterbury campus. From February to July of year 12, students will experience an introduction to HE level study and a broad exposure to the subjects available, before choosing a subject ‘strand’ to focus on for the remainder of the programme.

In year 13, students are invited to join a series of online ‘drop-in’ sessions to support their onward progression. Students who are successful in an application to the University of Kent will be eligible for our Ambition to Succeed Scholarship, and a programme of transition support (including the opportunity to interview for our Student Ambassador Scheme). Further details will be available shortly.
