University of Kent hosted This is Home in March 2023, an exhibition of photographic portraits by Dannii Jones of care leavers who have gone to university and have shared their experiences, hopes and dreams. The exhibition from The Unite Foundation, puts the voices of care experienced and estranged students at the forefront, and is crucial to creating changes that improve the university experience for all their fellow students.
Alongside events for care experienced students and their supporters, we had the opportunity to welcome Dannii to visit the University of Kent. She and one of our Student Ambassadors, Michael, sat down to chat about their experiences of university as care leavers and what it has meant to find a home at university.
