The University of Kent School of Engineering and Digital Arts is delighted to be working in partnership with Medway Libraries who have received funding from the Art’s Council, for ‘Picture Medway’, a project to develop photography workshops for young people aged 11 – 14 years. The project is Medway themed will focus on being a teen in Medway.
The workshops will be run by PhD students from the University of Kent and will be held in either Strood or Gillingham Library, finishing with an exhibition in all Medway libraries, online, in the schools and at the University. The project will also be working with Medway Archives so that the students are able to visit the centre and learn more about their local history. Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the course. The workshops will be free.
The schools invited to take part in this exciting project are partner schools of the University of Kent or members of the Kent and Medway Progression Federation. The workshops will run over a six week period and will be open to 12 students – possibly a school photography group. The workshops aim to build up knowledge and skills in a fun way.
The suggested dates of the workshops are:-

Wednesday 8 January 2020 – Wednesday 12 February 2020 (1.15 p.m. – 4.15 p.m.)
