Creative Arts Conference: How to Be Authentic in the Age of AI
Friday 19th June
How to Be Authentic in the Age of AI is an exciting creative arts conference for young artists, performers, filmmakers, and media producers growing up in a world increasingly dominated by technology. Whether you’re studying Drama, Film or Media – or you just love telling stories – our conference is designed especially for you.
This conference is aimed at year 12/level 3 students and will take place on Friday 19th June at our Canterbury Campus.
Through hands-on creative workshops, talks and seminars, we’ll explore big questions like:
- What can human scriptwriters do to show they can’t be replaced by AI?
- Is live comedy the last safe space for authentic human voices?
- Murderbot and Masculinity – how do male presenting robots in TV represent masculinity in our culture today
- Why do we love to play video games about the end of the world?
- Are Memes reshaping modern English?
You’ll meet academics from Film, Media and Drama whose research and professional practice actively explore these questions. And you’ll learn skills, techniques and new perspectives that will help you to think about how to use your authentic voice even while the products of AI swirl all around you. Because in a world where big tech’s machines can copy almost anything, your experience, opinions and creativity matter more than ever.
So come along and explore how to think critically and create work that expresses your unique human voice in an age of AI.
