Targeted Outreach Offer 2023/24

LGBTQ+ Mythbusters

LGBTQ+ Mythbusters

The LGBTQ+ Mythbusters are Student Ambassadors, who work with schools to facilitate candid conversations about the experiences of LGBTQ+ students, and their pathways to Higher Education. Through these conversations, we aim to help students feel more confident and comfortable with their sexuality, identity and explore university life. These sessions are available to your year 10+ students, regardless of their gender or sexual identity. We provide an open and accepting space for students to express themselves, ask questions and learn how current university students have navigated university life.

We hope this outreach activity can help students feel more supported, accepted, and empowered. In addition, this session can also support you in creating an inclusive and welcoming culture at your school or college.

If you would like to learn more about the LGBTQ+ Mythbusters, or book a session for your school or college, please get in touch with us today. We are taking bookings for January 2024 onwards.

To book: Please contact outreach@kent.ac.uk for more details, or speak to your WP Officer.

For any opportunities for care experienced and estranged students, please contact Shauna-Aine O’Brien, Targeted Outreach Manager and Designated Member of Staff for Care Experienced and Estranged Students (Pre-registration) on stjo@kent.ac.uk.
