Get To Know Kent Details, plus Support for Personal Statements, Finance, Access Students and Parent/Supporter Talks

Get To Know Kent

We have two events on our Canterbury and Medway campuses specifically for applicants applying to the University of Kent from our partner and KMPF institutions.

Wednesday 14 February – Canterbury campus

Thursday 15 February – Medway campus

During the day, applicants will have the chance to delve into the post-application process, gain insight into student finance and available scholarships, explore Kent’s extensive support services and extracurricular activities, engage in discussions about on-campus accommodation or commuting to the university, and have meaningful conversations with staff and current students regarding life and academics at Kent.

Applicants will be contacted individually and encouraged to come along with their parents/supporters or can book directly here.

UCAS/Personal Statement sessions

These 1 hour sessions for L3 Year 2 groups explore progression options specific to subject areas within colleges and focus on applications through UCAS, how to and the importance of research into courses (including assessment and module breakdown) and explores how to write a good personal statement. The sessions are delivered/supported by our student ambassadors to include their lived experience of HE

Student Finance Talks

These 1 hour talks are aimed at developing confidence in student finance; how to apply, what student finance is and how it is made up, how it is repaid, scholarships & bursaries and budgeting.  There are also sessions for students and parents/supporters. The sessions are delivered/supported by our student ambassadors to include their lived experience of HE

ACCESS Support

These 1 hour talks to Access groups within FE colleges (also offered to Kent Access groups) explore progression options and focus on applications through UCAS, how to and the importance of research into courses (including assessment and module breakdown) and explores how to write a good personal statement. We also introduce student finance as part of the session and discuss its specifics for mature students

Parent/supporters talks

We offer a range of talks designed to build bonds with parents/supporters through visibility at student finance talks, parent/supporters events and with parents/supporters of students applying specifically to Kent, who are invited to our progression events in February and September
