Next Chapter: Event for Care Experienced and Estranged University Students

Wednesday 15 March, 17-19:00, Templeman Library, University of Kent Canterbury Campus

A free event at University of Kent, for students who are care experienced or estranged. Join a workshop to recognise your skills, get a striking professional profile picture captured, and immerse yourself in an inspiring photographic exhibition.

Have a chance to explore This is Home, an exhibition from Unite Foundation, featuring portraits by Dannii Jones. The exhibition aims to provoke conversation, challenge stigma, and positively influence change for care experienced and estranged students.

In addition to seeing the exhibition, this event includes working with a professional photographer to take your portrait, which you can use for your professional profiles and portfolios, such as LinkedIn.

Work with our Careers and Employability Service team to learn how to make the most of university before you complete your programme of study. Learn to talk about your skills – what are they, why are they important, and how can you show that you have them? Along with opportunities to get involved on campus, gain valuable experience, and work closely with Outreach staff as a Student Ambassador.

This event is exclusively for care experienced and estranged students, and it’s free to attend. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. We hope you’ll join us and other students from the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, and the University for the Creative Arts.

Please follow this booking link to reserve your place at Next Chapter. Booking closes Friday 10 March. We look forward to seeing you there!
