World Languages Day is aimed at students in year 7 or 8 and offers a range of interactive workshops which encourage students to use the languages they are already learning and to try something new in a creative and engaging way.
We are delighted to invite you to the University of Kent World Languages Day 2023. These will be held as follows:
Universities at Medway Campus, Chatham
Wednesday 21 June 2023
9.45 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.
University of Kent Canterbury Campus
Tuesday 4 July 2023
9.45 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.
World Languages Day provides year 7 and 8 students with an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the language and culture of other countries. Students take part in a number of interactive sessions which are intended to develop their understanding of the languages they are currently learning or introduce them to a new language. Sessions available in previous years have included introductions to Japanese, Italian, Portuguese and Mandarin, interactive sessions in French, German and Spanish and a wide range of cultural workshops including dance, drama and music. The full programme will be available in Spring 2023.
These language events are free to all participants from any Kent and Medway schools. If you would like to bring your students to the day (normally limited to 30 students per school) please complete the booking form here and we will respond as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please email outreach@kent.ac.uk
