Year 12 UKAT Visit

On Friday 14 September the Partnership Development Office organised a large Year 12 visit day on the Medway campus for students from the University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT), which was attended by over 150 participants from Chatham Grammar School for Girls and Brompton Academy.

The day launched and formed part of an ongoing programme of activities for these students which will continue throughout Year 12 and Year 13, designed to support their progression as they move forward through sixth form, considering their post-18 options and exploring higher education. The first session was interactive and discussion-based, encouraging participants to reflect on their core values and personality preferences, and explore how these may impact their choices and actions in the future.

Students also participated in a campus tour led by current student ambassadors, giving them the opportunity to see some of the Medway campus’s facilities, such as the library and Student Hub at the Deep End.

The day culminated in an inspirational talk delivered by Law graduate and University of Kent alumni Alex Mclean; feedback from this part of the day was particularly positive, with students commenting that it was “very inspiring and helpful”, “motivating” and “fantastic”.

We look forward to working with these students again in the near future.
