The University of Kent Succeed Programme

The University of Kent is pleased to be hosting the Succeed Programme for a second year for Year 12 students in KaMCOP schools.

The University of Kent Succeed Programme is a year-long programme designed to help young people in Kent and Medway explore the opportunities and challenges offered by higher education in a safe, inclusive environment with the support of friendly and knowledgeable university staff and student ambassadors. The programme combines information, exploration and experience to give students a broad view of university and will encourage them to decide whether it is the right pathway for them.

The Succeed Programme will also help students to grow in confidence by exploring personal strengths and developing communication skills that will allow them to make confident and informed decisions about their future. Our aim is to help students succeed in their sixth form studies and Level 3 qualifications whatever you decide to do when you leave school.

We encourage any Year 12 students who are interested to apply, however, should the programme be oversubscribed, priority will be given to students who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You have achieved 5 GCSEs 9-4 including English and Maths.
  • Your parent(s)/guardian(s) did not attend university.
  • You live in local authority care, or you have lived in care
  • You live in an area deemed to have lower than expected participation rates in higher education as determined by the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).

To apply for a place on the programme please complete the application form and return it to the University of Kent by Monday 26th November

In addition, the department is looking to book promotional talks at schools within Year 12 assemblies. We encourage schools to book these talks within the first two weeks back from the half-term. To book a promotional talk please contact outreach@kent.ac.uk
