Lego League – School of Computing Support Package

The University of Kent will be hosting the annual regional Lego League tournament for Kent and Medway on 4 and 5 December 2018. Teams can still register via the IET website http://bit.ly/2x9mPJb. (Please note IET  may be able to offer limited financial support for schools with a high percentage of free school meals).

To support schools in Kent and Medway who register a team, the University of Kent School of Computing has put together a support package which includes help from a trained student ambassador who will come into your school to work with teams on a weekly or fortnightly basis throughout October and November.  The support will focus on teaching the programming language and robot design elements of the competition. The ambassadors will bring with them a MINDSTORMS robotics kit that will be loaned to your school for the duration of the tournament.

Please note that availability for this support package is limited so priority is given to new entrants to the compeition. Should it prove impossible to provide an ambassador to work with your school, the team will still be provided with a MINDSTORMS robot.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact outreach@kent.ac.uk with details of the times and dates your team is available for the support sessions.
