On Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September we ran successful Head Start events on our Medway and Canterbury campuses. These special days are organised for mature students coming to the University of Kent from Access courses at our partner colleges, to help them get a head start on university life.
Attendees were given the opportunity to meet staff and other students before Welcome Week, find out more about what to expect and familiarise themselves with their campus of study.
Sessions included advice from the Student Learning Advisory Service, an introduction to the library and independent study, and information about the Careers and Employability Service and the Students Union.
Attending students were both anxious and excited to begin their University journey but fed back that the days helped them feel much more prepared and reassured about the coming weeks.
