{"id":7964,"date":"2016-12-15T10:37:24","date_gmt":"2016-12-15T10:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/?p=7964"},"modified":"2016-12-15T10:44:25","modified_gmt":"2016-12-15T10:44:25","slug":"final-week-of-seasonal-music-making","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/2016\/12\/15\/final-week-of-seasonal-music-making\/","title":{"rendered":"Final week of seasonal music-making"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a busy week here in the Music department, with the final musical events bringing the term to a rousing seasonal finale.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the <strong>Chamber Choir<\/strong>, conducted by Your Loyal Correspondent, \u00a0performed as part of the University Carol Service in Canterbury Cathedral &#8211; always a magical occasion, which starts with the entire Cathedral being plunged into darkness, and the notes of the choir&#8217;s first carol rising to the dark recesses of vaulted roof above a sea of candles.
