{"id":7858,"date":"2016-11-21T11:50:42","date_gmt":"2016-11-21T11:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/?p=7858"},"modified":"2017-01-16T10:43:34","modified_gmt":"2017-01-16T10:43:34","slug":"preludes-re-visited-accompanied-by-live-music-for-two-pianos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/2016\/11\/21\/preludes-re-visited-accompanied-by-live-music-for-two-pianos\/","title":{"rendered":"Preludes Re-visited accompanied by live music for two pianos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A special event next week brings together an exhibition in Colyer-Fergusson Gallery with live music for two pianos on <strong>Friday 2 December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7816\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2016\/09\/14184510_10154537619231180_3622527117156399451_n-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"14184510_10154537619231180_3622527117156399451_n\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2016\/09\/14184510_10154537619231180_3622527117156399451_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2016\/09\/14184510_10154537619231180_3622527117156399451_n-113x150.jpg 113w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2016\/09\/14184510_10154537619231180_3622527117156399451_n.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Preludes (where you go I go)<\/em> by artist Adam de Ville returns to the gallery to see out the Autumn term in a new form, and to mark its re-emergence, you are invited to view the images accompanied by a live performance of Gavin Bryars&#8217; <em>My First Homage<\/em>, for two pianos, performed by Dan Harding and Matthew King.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, created especially for the Colyer-Fergusson Gallery, is Adam\u2019s response to Bryars\u2019 piece, <em>Sinking of the Titanic<\/em>, and this event offers the opportunity to experience the images during a live performance of Bryars\u2019 equally meditative homage to jazz pianist, Bill Evans, as a live soundscape.
