Including such well-loved hit songs such as \u2018If I Were A Rich Man\u2019 and \u2018Far From The Home I Love,\u2019 the annual productions by the University\u2019s\u00a0Music Theatre\u00a0Society are always fantastically vibrant events, with superb sets and costumes.\u00a0\u00a0Production Manager Tim Colegate is a second-year Drama student, whilst second-year English and American Studies student Katie Hogben is this year&#8217;s Costume Designer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Musical Director Elizabeth McIver, a final-year Music Scholar,\u00a0soprano and Biosciences student, says the musical has always been close to her heart. \u201cWhen I was about seven or\u00a0eight years old,\u00a0I saw the film version for the first time and I used to pretend I was Tevye and dance around like he does in\u2019 If I Were A Rich Man.\u2019 (Luckily our Tevye does a much better job than I did).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our singers are\u00a0full of enthusiasm and are so\u00a0hard-working! I am so glad we have such a lovely venue in which to showcase their work. Our band is a mixture of UKC and Christchurch students, and it&#8217;s fantastic working with them all.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first performance is on Thursday 1<sup>st<\/sup> March at 7.45pm, and the production runs until April 3, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are selling fast, appealing priced at \u00a0\u00a310 (\u00a35 for UKC and Christchurch students) and are available through the <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.theplayhousewhitstable.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Playhouse Theatre website\u00a0<\/a>or from their Box Office on 01227 272042.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It promises to be a fun-filled and exciting event: don\u2019t miss it!<br \/>\n&#8212;-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel information<\/strong> &#8211; the number 4 bus from Canterbury bus station leaves every 15mins on normal service, on Bank Holidays it runs a Sunday service so the buses leave only every 30mins.
