{"id":3395,"date":"2011-11-29T13:01:27","date_gmt":"2011-11-29T12:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/?p=3395"},"modified":"2011-11-29T13:01:27","modified_gmt":"2011-11-29T12:01:27","slug":"winter-warmer-lunchtime-concert-next-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/2011\/11\/29\/winter-warmer-lunchtime-concert-next-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter warmer: lunchtime concert next Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next Monday, the <strong>University Camerata and Cecilian Choir<\/strong> join forces to perform Vivaldi and Purcell in the last of this term&#8217;s Lunchtime Concerts.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 188px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" \" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/1\/1b\/Antonio_Vivaldi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"168\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fran\u00e7ois Morellon la Cave: portrait of Vivaldi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Red Priest&#8217;s enduringly-popular <em>Winter<\/em>, a vivid depiction of the season in its brittle textures, moves in its three movements from shivering amidst winter&#8217;s harsh wind to the warmth of sitting by the fire, whilst the last movement portrays racing across the ice before it cracks, seeking refuge behind a bolted door whilst winter&#8217;s chill fingers reach through the cracks.
