This week, <strong>Mick Norman. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_263\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-263\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2010\/03\/belleville_mick.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-263  \" title=\"Mick Norman\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2010\/03\/belleville_mick-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Mick Norman\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2010\/03\/belleville_mick-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2010\/03\/belleville_mick-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-263\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Still pulling strings: Mick Norman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>When were you at Kent ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I started my studies at Kent in 2004 and graduated in 2007 but I\u2019m still here&#8230;albeit as a member of staff!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What subject did you study ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Law\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What occupation are you now engaged in ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am currently working as the Faculty Learning Technologist for Social Sciences at the University of Kent&#8230;which in English means that I support Schools at the University using technology to enhance learning and teaching in the classroom and online.\u00a0 It\u2019s a complete departure from my degree but I absolutely love it!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>If music is not your profession, do you participate in any musical experiences now ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m currently a member of the University Symphony Orchestra, playing second violin, as well as performing with the University Camerata (Chamber Orchestra) and I occasionally play for local choirs when they require an orchestra.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I also play electric violin in my band, Belleville (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.bellevillemusic.co.uk\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bellevillemusic.co.uk\/\">http:\/\/www.bellevillemusic.co.uk<\/a>), and for my Church worship band.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>How were you involved in music whilst at Kent ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As well as playing for the University Symphony Orchestra and Camerata, I was also awarded a bursary which allowed me to continue having lessons with some excellent teachers.
