{"id":10745,"date":"2021-10-11T15:49:01","date_gmt":"2021-10-11T14:49:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/?p=10745"},"modified":"2021-10-12T14:42:54","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T13:42:54","slug":"lunchtime-concert-series-launches-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/2021\/10\/11\/lunchtime-concert-series-launches-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Lunchtime Concert series launches next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re very excited to say that our new Lunchtime Concert series launches next week, as the series of live performances returns to Colyer-Fergusson Hall once more.<\/p>\n<p>The series begins on <strong>Wednesday 20 October<\/strong> at the usual time of 1.10pm with what promises to be a mesmerising sequence of Indian <em>ragas<\/em> performed by British sitarist and composer, <strong>Jonathan Mayer,<\/strong> together with tabla-player<strong> Denis Kucherov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10738\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10738\" style=\"width: 251px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-10738\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2021\/09\/Jonathan-Mayer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"167\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10738\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image: (c) Matt Wilson \/ University of Kent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The event also begins a series of partnerships between the Music Department and professional performers; this year, Jonathan will be working with third-year Physics student and Hindustani singer, Ridima, towards a performance later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the lunchtime concerts are free to attend, but this term tickets need to be booked in advance of the performance, which can be done <a href=\"https:\/\/thegulbenkian.co.uk\/events\/lunchtime-concert-jonathan-mayer-denis-kucherov\/\"><strong>online here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kent-video-wrapper\"><span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center;
