{"id":10711,"date":"2021-07-27T12:46:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T11:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/?p=10711"},"modified":"2021-07-27T16:45:13","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T15:45:13","slug":"jazz-beside-the-sea-a-look-ahead-to-the-herne-bay-jazz-and-swing-festival-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/2021\/07\/27\/jazz-beside-the-sea-a-look-ahead-to-the-herne-bay-jazz-and-swing-festival-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Jazz beside the Sea: a look ahead to the Herne Bay Jazz and Swing Festival 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Herne Bay comes alive with three days of live jazz <strong>20-22 August<\/strong>, bringing a wealth of stars both international and local to the seaside town as the <strong>Herne Bay Jazz and Swing Festival<\/strong> makes a welcome return.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10716\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/music-matters\/files\/2021\/07\/HBJF-poster.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"551\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Familiar to BBC television viewers who like their dancing on a Saturday night, vocalist <strong>Tommy Blaize<\/strong> brings a touch of Strictly sparkle to the festival, whilst <strong>Ian Shaw<\/strong> presents what promises to be a fascinating homage to two titans of twentieth-century music \u2013 David Bowie and Joni Mitchell.
