Michelle graduated from Medway School of Pharmacy, with a First Class Bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Pharmacology and Physiology. She spent a sandwich year working within the Urinary System Physiology Unit at Medway, investigating the effect of bacterial infection in the bladder. This has allowed Michelle to develop essential laboratory skills, as well as understand the running of a lab. During the final year of her BSc degree, Michelle completed her project dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Stella Koutsikou and she won the prize for best dissertation in the year!
Michelle’s project focuses on unravelling distinct components of the midbrain circuitry that are involved in the Xenopus laevis tadpole’s motor behaviour. Behavioural testing and CNS lesions will be the key techniques used in Michelle’s project.
When not working in the lab, Michelle enjoys exploring her love for artistic and creative dimensions in fashion, beauty and make-up.
