{"id":612,"date":"2019-03-28T14:13:56","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T14:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/memsnews\/?p=612"},"modified":"2019-04-03T10:56:22","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T10:56:22","slug":"reflections-on-the-lyghfield-bible-workshop-and-lecture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/memsnews\/2019\/03\/28\/reflections-on-the-lyghfield-bible-workshop-and-lecture\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflections on the Lyghfield Bible workshop and lecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">In March 2019, a workshop and public lecture took place to\u00a0celebrate the return to the City of Canterbury,\u00a0a late-thirteenth century Parisian Bible (the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canterbury-cathedral.org\/whats-on\/news\/2018\/07\/31\/rare-medieval-bible-returns-home-500-years-after-it-disappeared-from-cathedral\/\">&#8216;Lyghfield Bible&#8217;<\/a>) which was\u00a0acquired last year by the Cathedral&#8217;s Library and Archives. In the afternoon of Monday, 4th March the University of Kent&#8217;s Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS)\u00a0hosted a workshop, <strong>From Paris to Canterbury: the Lyghfield Bible in Context<\/strong>, bringing together experts on\u00a0manuscript culture and the Bible in the thirteenth century.
