Edwards<\/strong> of the University of Kent. Taking place on <strong>Friday, 29th May<\/strong> at <strong>6pm <\/strong>in <strong>Rutherford Lecture Theatre 1<\/strong>, this is an open lecture to which all are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Edwards\u00a0will discuss the history of modern editing of Chaucer and the ways in which it obscures a proper understanding of what appear to have been his intentions as these are reflected in the manuscripts of his works, particularly his <em>Canterbury Tales<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception &#8211; all are welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the speaker: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/english\/staff\/tedwards.html\">Tony Edwards<\/a> is Professor of Medieval Manuscripts at the University of Kent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Entitled, &#8216;Reading Chaucer&#8217; this year&#8217;s lecture will be given by Professor\u00a0A.S.G.
