{"id":1479,"date":"2025-09-17T10:25:23","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T10:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/memsnews\/?p=1479"},"modified":"2025-10-03T15:02:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T15:02:07","slug":"celebrating-scholarship-success-congratulations-to-irene-lopez-huicochea-and-alicia-henry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/memsnews\/2025\/09\/17\/celebrating-scholarship-success-congratulations-to-irene-lopez-huicochea-and-alicia-henry\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating Scholarship Success: Congratulations to Irene Lopez Huicochea and Elizabeth Gilbody"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"349\">We are delighted to share the fantastic news that two outstanding students, <strong data-start=\"173\" data-end=\"198\">Irene Lopez Huicochea<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"203\" data-end=\"220\">Elizabeth Gilbody<\/strong>, have been awarded prestigious scholarships to pursue the <strong data-start=\"279\" data-end=\"322\">MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies<\/strong> at the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at the University of Kent.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"818\">Irene Lopez Huicochea has been awarded the <strong data-start=\"394\" data-end=\"416\">CAMEMS Scholarship<\/strong>, a competitive award recognizing academic excellence and a deep commitment to interdisciplinary research in the medieval and early modern periods. We are thrilled to welcome her to the MEMS community and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camems.org.uk\/community\/camems-20688\/home\/\">Canterbury Association for Medieval and Early Modern Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1255\">Elizabeth Gilbody is the recipient of the <strong data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"887\">Sasha Roberts Scholarship<\/strong>, named in memory of the much-loved scholar of early modern literature and Shakespeare. This scholarship is awarded to a student whose academic promise and passion for the period reflect the spirit of Sasha Roberts\u2019 legacy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1502\">Both Irene and Elizabeth embody the intellectual curiosity and scholarly dedication that the Medieval and Early Modern Studies MA nurtures.
