Suzanna is Senior Lecturer in Early Modern History in the School of Classics, English &amp; History and MEMS, and a leading expert on Central and Eastern Europe in the early modern period.<\/p>\n<p>Her monograph\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/global.oup.com\/academic\/product\/cosmos-and-materiality-in-early-modern-prague-9780192898982?cc=gb&amp;lang=en&amp;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Cosmos and Materiality in Early Modern Prague<\/i><\/a>, published by Oxford University Press in 2021, won the Society for Renaissance Studies Biennial Book Prize in 2022. Suzanna is also Principal Investigator of the AHRC-funded research network, <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/emcentraleu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Connected Central European Worlds, 1500-1700<\/a>, which examines connections across and beyond Central Europe through objects.<\/p>\n<p>About her new appointment, Suzanna said: &#8220;I am looking forward to\u00a0working closely with brilliant colleagues and a thriving student community\u00a0in MEMS as we head towards the Centre&#8217;s 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary. It deserves its place among the leading medieval and early modern research centres in the UK, renowned for its inspiring and supportive research community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Suzanna takes up the baton from Dr Rory Loughnane, for whose work she expressed gratitude: &#8220;I want to thank Rory on everyone&#8217;s behalf for the incredible energy he has brought to MEMS to keep it such a thriving part of medieval and early modern studies in the UK.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Suzanna will be working alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/english\/people\/122\/wright-clare\">Dr Clare Wright<\/a> who has been appointed to the new role of MA Co-Ordinator.
