One of the services MEMS provides to the wider community is to organise and host public lectures each year. These events celebrate the very best in medieval and early modern research, bringing leading scholars to Canterbury. This year we are delighted to announce that our Renaissance Lecturer will be, as it were home-grown talent, in MEMS stalwart and University of Kent Professor Emeritus, Kenneth Fincham.
One of Britain’s leading early modern historians, he will speak to us on his exciting new research on ‘Charles II: Conformity, Toleration and Supremacy’. This year’s Renaissance Lecture will take place on Thursday 9th May, 5pm in the Templeman Lecture Theatre on the University’s campus. All are welcome, and (thanks to a small benefaction) a drinks reception will follow.
