On Monday the 12th of December, at\u00a05-7pm, in Jarman 7 we will be screening the UK anthology film\u00a0<em>Dead of Night<\/em> (1945, Alberto Cavalcanti, Charles Crichton, Robert Hamer and Basil Dearden, 102 mins).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/melodramaresearchgroup\/files\/2016\/12\/dead_of_night_poster_03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1656\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/melodramaresearchgroup\/files\/2016\/12\/dead_of_night_poster_03-202x300.jpg\" alt=\"dead_of_night_poster_03\" width=\"202\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/melodramaresearchgroup\/files\/2016\/12\/dead_of_night_poster_03-202x300.jpg 202w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/melodramaresearchgroup\/files\/2016\/12\/dead_of_night_poster_03-768x1138.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/melodramaresearchgroup\/files\/2016\/12\/dead_of_night_poster_03-691x1024.jpg 691w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px\" \/><\/a>&#8216;How narrow is the margin between dreams and reality, the natural and the supernatural, fact or fiction, is graphically and dramatically shown in this Ealing Studios production based on original stories by H.G. Wells&#8217;. This intriguing opening to\u00a0a\u00a0Review\u00a0of the film in Fan Magazine\u00a0<em>Screenland<\/em> (August 1946, p. 12) poses these, as well as other philosophical quandaries, in its 5 linked gothic horror narratives.
