the Buddhist meditation group at the University of Kent in Canterbury, which has been running for more than 25 years, providing an informal and reflective space for students, staff, visitors and residents of all religious and non-religious backgrounds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We meet up once a week, for silent meditation and friendly conversation.\u00a0\u00a0 There is no charge and no obligation:\u00a0 you can join in whenever you wish, either in person or using an on-line link.\u00a0\u00a0 Some people do so nearly every week, others just from time to time, and others occasionally from more distant places around the country and abroad.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Sometimes there is a talk or discussion on meditation, but usually conversation is entirely informal, allowing people to talk about whatever they want, or to say little if they prefer.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There are plenty of comfortable chairs, or you may bring your own cushion to sit on the floor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We have connections with The Buddhist Society, Amaravati, Chithurst and CANDIFA, and\u00a0<\/em><em>provide a contact point with other local Buddhist groups (see Contacts page).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We make occasional visits to the monasteries and elsewhere.\u00a0\u00a0 The Events page shows some of these in recent years.<\/em><\/p>\n<div community for all those interested in Buddhist teachings and practice.
