Kent Business School hosts AMBA spring MBA refresher

What an amazing day of discussions, sharing and interactions! Kent Business School was honoured to be part of the AMBA refresher series where MBA graduated are invited to return to school for a day of learning with 4 dynamic speakers. We were privileged to have had Prof John Saunders (Kent Business School), Prof Edward Borodzicz (Portsmouth Business School), Linda Cheung (CEO, CubeSocial) and Gwyn Price (Regional Director, Corporate Banking, Santander) deliver cutting edge new research and insights into their areas of expertise. John Saunders encouraged us to take courage so as to innovate and perform; Edward Borodzicz reminded us that we need to build resilience capability in our staff and organisations so as to manage crises and risks. Linda Cheung delivered an interactive session encouraging all delegates to make the most of social media, and Gwyn Price told the story of Santander’s challenges in building a brand within a mature market and amidst banking crises.

Dr Pamela Yeow, director of the Kent MBA commented, “this was a brilliant event, which brought together expert academics and practitioners who were keen and willing to share their ideas and stories with all delegates. It was great to see that people had made the efforts to come to this event, some travelling a couple of hours. We promote continuous learning and development within the MBA and today was a good example of how CPDs should be.”

Delegates agreed that the Refresher was not only good for gaining insights from experts and professionals, they also found it a useful networking session with opportunities to speak with executives across a wide range of sectors and disciplines.
