{"id":247,"date":"2022-05-27T13:26:07","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T12:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/maast\/?p=247"},"modified":"2023-03-30T16:05:16","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T15:05:16","slug":"soundlapse-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/maast\/2022\/05\/27\/soundlapse-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"SoundLapse Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This concert presents the eight compositions commissioned in 2021 by the <a href=\"https:\/\/soundlapse.net\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SoundLapse project<\/a>, in Chile, and published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gruenrekorder.de\/?page_id=18999\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gruenrekorder<\/a>. The concert will be held at the Royal Dockyard Church on 26 May 2022, starting at 4:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The SoundLapse project is an interdisciplinary research initiative funded in 2019 by the Chilean National Agency for Research and Development. It seeks to highlight the acoustical heritage of wetlands in the south of Chile. The project brought together artists, acousticians, biologists and computer scientists with the aim of studying these ecosystems\u2018 unique soundscapes. As an outcome of the project\u2019s periodic documentation of the \u201cParque Urbano El Bosque\u201d wetland soundscapes in Valdivia, in 2021 eight sound artists were commissioned to compose works using these field recordings.
