‘Acousmatic Transcendence’ was a three-day festival of sound comprising spatial sound workshops and concerts. The events brought together two sound diffusion systems: the MAAST from the University of Kent and the ACP Acousmonium from Vienna with its Director Thomas Gorbach. The combination of the two systems amounted to 65 loudspeakers. Featured prominent composers were Prof. Denis Smalley and Prof. Jonty Harrison. There was a Call for Works through which the festival received 104 compositions from 25 countries in total.
