The Kent Law School Graduate Conference Organising Committee is pleased to announce that the 10th annual KLS Graduate Law Student Conference will take place jointly with the annual Kent Critical Law Student Conference<\/span><\/u>\u00a0on 9th & 10th June 2022.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme is \u2018Revisiting the Meaning of Sovereignty<\/strong>\u2019 and will be held as a hybrid conference\u00a0at Kennedy Wong Moot Court in the Wigoder Law Building, University of Kent,\u00a0allowing presenters and attendees to participate both online and in person.\u00a0The conference aims to critically explore the concept of sovereignty from an interdisciplinary perspective by revisiting the meaning of sovereignty as a result of\u00a0the changing global legal, political and social contexts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The theme is fully explained in the conference\u2019s \u2018Call <\/strong>for\u00a0<\/strong>Papers\u2019<\/strong> (attached)<\/span>.<\/span> We particularly invite reflections on\u00a0sovereignty in relation to, but not limited to,\u00a0issues of climate change, transnational and organised crimes, terrorism, nuclear weapons proliferation, human rights protection and free trade.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We invite interdisciplinary commentary on the conference theme as well as insights taking critical legal approaches.\u00a0Applicants\u00a0are invited to think broadly about the theme\u00a0in their own work and to present on a topic of their choosing in a relaxed, friendly and intellectually stimulating environment.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
