The Diversity Mark Practitioner Award has been awarded to all four lecturers teaching in English Language, Linguistics and World Literature. This has been awarded to recognise their commitment to a diverse, inclusive curriculum and learning environment.
Congratulations to Laura Bailey, Christina Kim, Eleni Kapogianni and Joanne Pettitt on their achievement.
This award was gained by taking part in a three-day retreat in July and submitting a reflection on their practice and future plans for their modules. The Diversity Mark is an institution wide programme run by Student Success, celebrating modules that offer an inclusive learning experience and diverse range of resources. To achieve this award, convenors need to provide evidence that inclusive resources have been added to their modules and they commit to diversity and inclusion in their ongoing teaching practice and learning resources.
Dr Laura Bailey, Senior Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics, said, āI especially wanted us all to gain the award together to show our commitment to diversity and inclusivity across the whole course. This is very important to us so Iām really proud that we were all able to demonstrate that we put these principles into practice in our teaching.ā
