Kent Law School is ranked as one of the top\u00a015 law schools in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide<\/span><\/i> 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest national league table results, published yesterday, also rank Kent Law School amongst the top ten schools in the country for its research quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide<\/i> offers a comprehensive analysis of quality, drawing on criteria that include student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student\/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates. Within these criteria, Kent Law School is ranked 13th overall in the subject table for Law, 8th for research quality and 18th for graduate prospects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acting Head of Kent Law School Professor Didi Herman said: ‘Our position as a top\u00a015 law school in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide<\/span> <\/em>2016 further confirms our international reputation for the quality of both our teaching and our research. <\/span><\/p>\n

‘Our distinctive critical approach to teaching and research enables our students to extend their learning beyond the detail of the law. They are taught to think about its history, development and relationship with wider society. Students learn in an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment that enables them to develop skills in critical research, analysis and creative thinking. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018We are also very proud of the fact that our research makes a difference to our students, at all levels; not only do they benefit from the world-renowned visitors invited to present new ideas about law but, most importantly, they benefit from the way in which we embed our research into our teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘This latest league table result also\u00a0confirms\u00a0the School’s\u00a0high employment outcomes with\u00a082% of our graduates taking up professional level employment or further, graduate level, study within\u00a0six months of graduation.’<\/span><\/p>\n

Kent has long been regarded as a leading UK Law School. Its world class academic standing for research quality was confirmed in the most recent <\/span>Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014<\/span><\/a> when it was ranked 8th<\/span><\/sup> in the UK for research intensity, 7th for research power and in the top 20 for research output, research quality, and research impact. Almost all (99%) of the research submitted was judged to be of international quality and the School\u2019s environment was judged to be conducive to supporting the development of world-leading research.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kent Law School is ranked 17th<\/span><\/sup> in the Guardian Good University Guide 2016<\/span><\/a><\/i> and is ranked amongst the top 150 law schools in the world in the latest <\/span>QS World University Rankings<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 In the latest National Student Survey (NSS) 2015, the School achieved high levels of student satisfaction with teaching (90%) and 90% of final year undergraduate students reported that they were satisfied overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Times and Sunday Times<\/i> table also places the University of Kent 23rd <\/span><\/sup>overall<\/span><\/a>, with Kent making the shortlist for the annual University of the Year Award. Earlier this month the University of Kent was recognised as one of the world\u2019s best universities in the QS World University Rankings 2015-16<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
