{"id":7949,"date":"2024-07-30T16:42:25","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T15:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=7949"},"modified":"2024-07-30T16:45:27","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T15:45:27","slug":"kent-law-school-the-skills-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/kent-law-school-the-skills-hub\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Law School &#8211; The Skills Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is The Skills hub?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The KLS Skills Hub is designed to help you through your degree and offers structured support through face-to-face meetings and video and audio resources<\/li>\n<li>It will help you manage your workload, and is a support service designed to help you succeed in your studies<\/li>\n<li>You can discuss how to manage your workload, how to prepare for classes, and how to approach university assessments<\/li>\n<li>We encourage you to contact us if\u00a0you have any issues, questions or queries, and we wish you the best of luck here at Kent!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What guidance and advice can you find at the Skills Hub?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Hub offers advice and guidance on anything related to skills development such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approaching assessments \u2013 structuring essays, working with sources, case notes etc<\/li>\n<li>Core skills<\/li>\n<li>Exam preparation\/revision<\/li>\n<li>Problem questions and essays<\/li>\n<li>Reading &amp; note-taking<\/li>\n<li>Reading cases<\/li>\n<li>Research<\/li>\n<li>Referencing (and OSCOLA)<\/li>\n<li>Strategies for coping with workload\/time management<\/li>\n<li>Understanding &amp; acting on feedback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll find lots of really helpful and comprehensive resources online, via the Skills Hub\u2019s Moodle Module (available to current students only).<\/p>\n<p>The Skills Hub also organises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Targeted workshops<\/li>\n<li>Various podcasts or live lectures at relevant times designed to help you improve the study skills you require to succeed<\/li>\n<li>A dedicated email service and online advice forum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What the Skills Hub do NOT do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t advise you on content-specific queries. For questions relating to module content, you\u2019ll need to see your seminar leader. And we can\u2019t provide the answers to your assessment questions!
