{"id":76,"date":"2014-07-03T11:52:17","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T11:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=76"},"modified":"2014-10-20T11:52:39","modified_gmt":"2014-10-20T11:52:39","slug":"fifty-years-of-feminism-at-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/fifty-years-of-feminism-at-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Fifty Years of Feminism at Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/planningfor50\/inspiringthefuture\/projects\/social-sciences.html\">Fify Years of Feminism at Kent<\/a>&#8216; is a 50th anniversary project organised by academics from the faculty of Social Sciences (including Kent Law School), to mark the important role Kent has played in the development of academic feminism.<\/p>\n<p>The project, one of a number marking the University of Kent&#8217;s 50th anniversary, will celebrate past achievements at Kent, including the establishment of the first taught programme in Women&#8217;s Studies in this country.<\/p>\n<p>Project co-ordinators, Senior Lecturer in Social Science Dr Anne Logan and Kent Law School Teaching Assistant Serena Natile are keen to focus on the present and the future.<\/p>\n<p>Serena Natile said: &#8216;There will be a panel discussion (involving academics, students and activists) on &#8216;Feminism: where are we now&#8217; and a conference on Gender, Austerity and Wealth organised by Dr Simone Wong from Kent Law School.
