His Majesty The King bestowed this prestigious award upon only nine legal figures in the country in 2022.

KC Honoris Causa or Honorary KC is an honorary award unique to the legal profession. This is the first group of King’s Counsel to be appointed for more than 70 years.

The announcement, on 23 December, indicated that this award was as a result of Professor Hunter’s scholarly achievements in the study of the Family Justice System, together with her work in the important field of domestic abuse which has directly affected legislative developments.

Upon hearing the announcement, Professor Hunter said “I am thrilled to receive this award.
