Kent continues to rank as one of the best law schools in the UK, achieving a position of 17th<\/sup> in the national Guardian Good University Guide 2016<\/em> subject league table for law<\/a>, published this week.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s position sees the School outperform 13 of 24 Russell Group universities. The Guardian University Guide<\/em> is one of the most trusted and influential resources for students looking to study at university, with the subject table for law ranking all 98 university law schools across the UK. It\u2019s the second year the School has been listed in the top 20, having been ranked 14th<\/sup> in 2014.<\/p>\n

The latest edition of the Guardian University Guide 2016<\/a><\/em> also sees the University of Kent\u2019s overall position rise from 20th<\/sup> to 16th<\/sup> (out of a total of 119 UK universities), its highest league table position to date.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Kent Law School was placed among the top 150 law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject<\/a>. These global rankings place the School 20th out of 28 UK law schools which made the list of top 200 institutions across the world.\u00a0 The Law School also ranks 10th in the Times Good University Guide 2015<\/a><\/em>, a position it has held for two consecutive years.<\/p>\n

In addition to its reputation as a leading UK law school, with a distinctive \u2018critical approach\u2019 to teaching law, the School has an international reputation for producing world-leading research. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework<\/a> (REF) 2014, Kent Law School is ranked 8th in the UK for research intensity with almost all (99%) of the School’s research judged to be of international quality. The REF, an independent survey of UK universities, also ranks the School 7th for research power with more than a third of the School’s research being given the highest 4* rating. The Law School also has one of the highest ratings for student satisfaction in the UK, achieving a 93% overall student satisfaction in the NSS 2014<\/a>.<\/p>\n
