{"id":5903,"date":"2020-10-28T14:52:55","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T14:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=5903"},"modified":"2020-10-28T14:57:48","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T14:57:48","slug":"kent-law-school-ranked-45th-in-world-for-law-in-2021-the-world-university-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/kent-law-school-ranked-45th-in-world-for-law-in-2021-the-world-university-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Law School ranked 45th in world for law in 2021 THE World University Rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kent Law School is ranked 45th in the world for law in today&#8217;s 2021<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2021\/subject-ranking\/law#!\/page\/0\/length\/25\/locations\/GB\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\">Times Higher Education<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2021\/subject-ranking\/law#!\/page\/0\/length\/25\/locations\/GB\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\"> (<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2021\/subject-ranking\/law#!\/page\/0\/length\/25\/locations\/GB\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\">THE) World University Rankings.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The news is a further boost to the Law School&#8217;s <span class=\"s1\">world-leading reputation for teaching and critical, socio-legal research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Out of a total of 224 law schools across the globe that met the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings-2021-subject-law-methodology\">strict criteria<\/a> to be ranked, Kent Law School was one of only 12 UK law schools to feature within the top 50.<\/p>\n<p>Within the ranking of 224 institutions, Kent is 25<span class=\"s1\">th in the world for \u2018international outlook\u2019 and is listed among the top 61 best law schools in the world for research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The rankings judge research-intensive law schools across five key areas: teaching (the learning environment &#8211; 32.7%); research (volume, income and reputation &#8211; 30.8%); citations (research influence &#8211; 25%); international outlook (staff, students and research &#8211; 9%); and industry income (innovation &#8211; 2.5%).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the THE World University Rankings, Kent Law School performs strongly in two other leading global league tables; Kent is ranked among\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">the top 150 law schools in the world in the 2020 Shanghai Ranking\u2019s Global Ranking of Academic Subject and among <\/span>the top 200 law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Law School also maintains a strong and consistent performance in all three major UK league tables, with a top 25 ranking in all three for 2021: <span class=\"s1\">13th in <\/span><em>The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide<\/em> 2021 for law;
